Dark Forest 2012 - Land Of The Evening Star
http://www.metal-archives.com/albums/Dark_Forest/Land_of_the_Evening_Star/321640
Very solid melodic black metal.
Atmospheric, evil, eerie, grim and varied, it has it all.
Canadian bias maybe? Nah, it's a sure shot. no one can hate this dark beauty.
Verdict : BUY
Underground review
I listen to a lot of (underground metal) music, black death, trash metal, and mostly anything in between. I discover tons of news bands each month and decided to do quick 5 minute review for each of them that I find worthwhile - or not.

If These Trees Could Talk - Red Forest[2012]
1rst impression: Is this Agalloch?!
No, it's not, but in spirit, it's pretty much the same. No vocals, but they're not missed.
Instantly, I'm a fan, I need their other albums.
This is the kind of music they put in the snowboard or mountain bike "money shots", with scenic views and incredible cascades, this is the uplifting sonate needed to convey the grandeur.
Long and epic, never boring, if you're in the mood for atmospheric, that is.
Verdict: BUY
